  • Scan work orders and follow the job progress in the field with a smartphone or tablet.
  • Scan freight bar codes / QR codes and combine with the GPS capture feature for track-and-trace.
  • Scan products for merchandising and keep on top of stock delivery and supplies.
  • Scan an attendee ID badge instead of using the on-screen keyboard to enter a name and contact details.
  • Scan a student ID card using a tablet kiosk and record attendance with a date and time.
  • Scan the barcode of competitive products and record additional research data in a retail audit.

What's the difference between 1D barcodes and 2D QR Codes?

The 1D barcodes can contain up to a maximum of 25 alpha numeric characters whereas a 2D QR Code barcodes can store thousands of alpha numeric characters.

A 2D QR code is easier and faster to scan using a camera equipped mobile device and a scanner app.

If a 1D barcode is slightly damaged it can become impossible to scan. The 2D QR code has some data-correction information that can be used to reconstruct any data should the barcode pattern be partially damaged. If a 2D QR code suffers slight damage it is more likely to be readable than a 1D barcode.
